Virens is the plant-forward restaurant at Almanac Barcelona. With vegetable dishes as the main focus, it also offers a selection of rices, organic meat and fish led by Michelin-starred chef Rodrigo de la Calle. Virens’ seasonal menu changes include a range of home-made fermented and sparkling drinks to introduce our guests to green mixology.

Discover a singular encounter at Virens Barcelona, inside Almanac Barcelona, where contemporary artist Jimmy Millán and chef Gio Esteve come together to transform seven defining moments of the artist’s life into a multisensory experience.

For this collaboration, Millán has created a limited-edition ceramic tableware collection of seven pieces, each symbolizing a milestone in his personal and creative journey. Crafted by the historic Alfarería Alfonso Góngora (est. 1846) and later hand-intervened by the artist, every piece carries his signature textures, cracks, and expressive gestures.

These works of art become the stage for an exclusive seven-course tasting menu, where chef Gio Esteve interprets each life chapter through flavor, technique, and seasonal ingredients. The result is an intimate monthly showcooking for just ten guests, where every dish is presented on the ceramic piece that inspired it.

VIRENS offers three private dining facilities filled with natural light, making it the perfect place to host a business meeting, private lunch or dinner. With room for up to 14 people, these private dining rooms offer an exclusive place to enjoy delicious cuisine.
