DESIGNBLOK COMES ALIVE AT ALMANAC X ALCRON PRAGUE

During October, Almanac X Alcron Prague will become the pulsating hub of Designblok 2025 – design, art, and mixology will come together in live installations, unique exhibitions, and one-of-a-kind cocktails at Alcron Bar.

During October, the Almanac X Alcron Prague hotel will transform into one of the liveliest venues of the 27th edition of Designblok, the largest design and fashion festival in Central Europe.

As the official hotel partner, it will open its spaces to local and international designers, VIP guests, jury members, media representatives, and the general public. Guests can look forward to exceptional installations by leading Czech creators, a unique fusion of mixology and design, and a special festival menu created in collaboration with artists. The hotel will become not only a luxurious retreat but also a cultural hub where design is experienced with all the senses. The festival will also feature its own accompanying program, offering visitors the opportunity to explore contemporary art and design directly in the hotel’s authentic setting.

The hotel lobby will turn into a living gallery. Visitors can admire the authorial installation DECHEM & Michal Bačák: CREATIVE SYNERGY, celebrating craftsmanship and surprising forms. The installation combines vases, illustrations, and art objects created through the collaboration of illustrator Michal Bačák – winner of the “Illustrator of the Year” title and three-time Elle Deco International Design Award recipient – and the glass studio DECHEM (Michaela Tomišková and Jakub Janďourek), whose works have been presented in Milan, Paris, Hong Kong, and New York. The exhibition combines classic and experimental techniques, showcasing both current collections and selected works from previous years, including iconic vases from the “Mould” and “Konfeta” series.

The hotel festival program also features the showroom of designer Linda Pro, presenting the collection I’M NOT FRAGILE! I JUST WANT TO BE HANDLED WITH CARE. Inspired by this year’s theme Courage, the collection demonstrates that fragility is often just a matter of perspective, and true strength lies in respect and conduct. Blown and fused glass objects reinterpret iconic fragile labels and transform them into artistic pieces.

The hotel spaces are further enriched by the exhibition of paintings by July Haluzová, who supports the local scene and regularly complements the concept of rotating contemporary art exhibitions. On Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 18:00, a ceremonial closing with a personal commentary by the artist will take place.

Design at Alcron is expressed not only visually but also through taste. In Alcron Bar, starting October 8, mixology will merge with Czech design QUBUS, whose iconic interior accessories, collectible pieces, and limited Starquiola vases will create a unique atmosphere. During Designblok and throughout the year, guests can enjoy special signature cocktails served in Qubus porcelain and glass, created in collaboration with chief designer Jakub Berdych Karpelis and curator Marcela Straková.

The festival offer at Alcron Bar is not limited to Qubus. As part of our long-term vision of combining mixology and art, signature cocktails were also created in collaboration with artist July Haluzová, artist Adam Jílek, and glass designer Linda Pro. These drinks are not just a short-term festival attraction but reflect our effort to provide guests with experiences where design and taste intertwine seamlessly.

Become part of the festival that comes alive in our hotel – we look forward to welcoming you to Designblok 2025.
