Shop directly from farmers, sample their specialities, and immerse yourself in a culinary atmosphere – a vibrant tribute to Vienna’s traditional farmers’ markets. Donnersmarkt is situated in a grand palace, once the residence of the Donnersmarck family, who were pioneers in the region’s agricultural trade, bringing fresh produce from their northern Slovakian estate to local farmers’ markets, which were traditionally held on Thursdays. Today, their legacy lives on through the new culinary experience of Thursday Markets, which not only honors this rich heritage but also marks the transition of “Donnersmarkt”.
