Where am I from?
Originally from Northern Germany, I spent almost fifteen years in London before Vienna became home.
Where do I live?
Vienna is home base, but my working week rarely stays put. I’m regularly in Prague, Barcelona, and Zagreb, which means I know our hotels and destinations not only as a guest would, but from the inside out.
My favourite thing about Almanac
Being family owned and operated. It means we can offer a level of attention, flexibility, and personal touch that the bigger brands simply can’t match.
What I recommend booking now
- A corner suite on the top floor of Almanac Palais Vienna, for uninterrupted views of the autumn light over the Karlskirche.
- A room with a cube window at Almanac Barcelona, perfect for watching the trees along Gran Via turn for the season.
- A balcony room or suite at Almanac X Alcron Prague, because there’s nothing like sitting out with a coffee as the city’s clay-tiled rooftops catch the autumn light.
Fresh off the press

Almanac Palais Vienna
Vienna has turned rest into a ritual. The new Gold Sleep Ritual pairs relaxation, aromatherapy and the city’s own “Gold Noise” soundscape, inspired by Vienna’s gilded landmarks. Book your clients a night’s worth travelling for.

Almanac x Alcron Prague
The legendary Alcron restaurant has reopened as Brasserie 1932, a nod to the hotel’s founding year. It revives the golden age of Prague dining with precise French technique and an original Czech fare.
Almanac Barcelona
Barcelona invites your clients to make their stay a keepsake. With artist Gaston Lisak’s Create Your Own Time Capsule, a stay becomes a personal and lasting work of art.
Did you know?
The Alcron legacy
When it opening in 1932, Hotel Alcron was one of Prague’s great gastronomic names, later earning a Michelin star. That spirit still leads today: Brasserie 1932 revives the golden age of Prague dining serving Czech traditional dishes with a French twist, while the Alcron Bar pours cocktails drawn from the hotel’s own history. A stay here isn’t just steeped in heritage; it’s a taste of it.
Did you know?
Room to dream
Here’s a detail that often settles it: some of our suites at Almanac Palais Vienna feature beds four metres wide. It sounds like a flourish, but it’s a practical gift. For families sharing, for parents who’d rather not book a second room, or simply for a guest who wants to stretch out in true palais style, that extra space is frequently the deciding factor.
Did you know?
Green at heart
Barcelona has no shortage of celebrated kitchens, at Virens, plant-forward dining takes centre stage, vegetables treated as the main event, in a menu that changes with the season and the market. It’s the kind of place that surprises the sceptics: refined, inventive and rooted in the Mediterranean, with meat and fish present but never the point. For clients who care about how and what they eat.

FAQ
Everything you need to book Almanac with confidence
Each hotel has its own character, so the right fit depends on your client.
- Almanac Barcelona suits couples, design and culture lovers, families in suites and multi-city Spain itineraries
- Almanac Palais Vienna is made for couples, culture-focused travellers and guests either side of a Danube cruise
- Almanac X Alcron Prague is for the culturally curious and design-minded, first-time visitors to Prague, and Central European journeys
Not sure? Just ask us, we’ll help you match the right hotel and room category to your client.
Alfredo Martinez is your central point of contact across all three hotels, on hand for everything from hotel selection and suite recommendations to itinerary planning and more involved client requests. Each hotel team is also there locally for reservations and stay-specific details.
Always. We’re happy to help with the trickier choices in particular with connecting or adjoining rooms, family layouts, balconies and terraces, a specific view, larger suites, private or residential-style accommodation, and special-occasion stays. When the brief is detailed, do come to us rather than relying on the room-category descriptions alone.
All three hotels welcome families, though their strengths differ.
- Barcelona offers the most possibilities, with multi-bedroom and terrace suites and an entire seventh floor that can be taken privately, combining six suites for up to 17 guests
- Vienna offers connecting rooms and suites, and suits families with older children especially well
- Prague offers connecting and adjoining options, and suites for families who’d like to stay close together
While we don’t put the itinerary together ourselves, we’re glad to point you in the right direction. We can suggest which European cities pair especially well with each of our destinations: for instance, Barcelona with Madrid or Seville, Vienna within Central European routes and Danube cruises, Prague along Vienna–Prague–Budapest or Prague–Berlin — to help you shape a fuller journey around your client’s stay. We can also recommend trusted local DMCs, experts in each destination, who can help create and coordinate the finer detail.
As a rule of thumb: three to four nights in Barcelona, two to three in Vienna, and three to four in Prague. The ideal stay really depends on your client’s interests and the wider itinerary, we’re glad to advise.
Yes. Our hotel and concierge teams build destination experiences around the individual guest, wheter it is private cultural and culinary moments in Barcelona, curated art and cultural access in Vienna, and artist- and design-led experiences in Prague. For VIPs or special interests, come to us directly and we’ll shape it around them.
Absolutely. Share the details with us ahead of arrival and our teams will take care of the right room or suite, dining, experiences and any other personal touches. For high-value or complex stays, the earlier you’re in touch, the better.
There’s no year-round minimum across the collection, though a few high-demand dates carry conditions.
- Barcelona is generally open
- Vienna stays flexible, with two-night minimums possible during Ball Season and festive peaks
- Prague is flexible too, with two nights recommended over the festive season. It’s always worth checking current conditions for peak dates
